Pacific Coast Highway & Yosemite

Forget everything you have ever thought about American roads, this trip takes you on some of the best driving roads in the USA. Miles of twists and turns as Highway 1 clings to the coast of the Pacific Ocean winding its way from LA to San Francisco. Cross the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge and enjoy the spectacular scenery as the road climbs and swoops through Muir Woods and back down to the coast road. Continue north along the rugged coastline and you will soon see why Hollywood has used this area for decades from 60's films by Hitchcock, the long running TV show "Murder she Wrote" and "Need for Speed" shot in 2014. Picture post card towns and Inns set by the sea provide us with some fantastic stops along the route. Further north the the road takes us through the magnificent Redwood forests with trees almost 200 feet high and 3000 years old. Leaving the coast and heading east takes us climbing the mountains and dropping into the valleys of Shasta Trinity National Forest as we head towards Gold Rush country. Staying in some beautiful old Inns our final few days are spent in Yosemite National Park with spectacular mountains and valleys to explore before heading back to LA and enjoying a final night overlooking the Pacific.

Please Note: This is the route we used in 2017. We are currently working on a revised itinerary to include Las Vegas, Death Valley and Yosemite. The updated tour will be for14 nights. Please keep checking back for updates.
